A paper process, made instant
Physician time logging ran on paper forms that changed hands several times before someone re-keyed them. A cloud app now takes the forms directly, enforces the contract rules, and puts every submission in front of the practice manager the moment it lands.
The problem
Physician time logging ran on paper. Forms changed hands several times, then the data was re-keyed by hand. The practice manager only saw the numbers at the end of each cycle, after a round of number crunching.
What I built
A cloud application where doctors submit their forms directly. The complex contract rules and hour calculations are enforced by the app, so a form cannot be submitted wrong, and every submission is instantly available to the practice manager.
A second form route handles CRNAs, including overtime and other pay options. The manager works from a full reporting suite with on-demand information instead of end-of-cycle number crunching.
Results
Roughly one full-time employee's worth of manual work is gone, at about a third of what hiring for it would have cost. There are no paper handoffs left in the process.
